The MPCA Community Teacher's Awards celebrates the efforts of teachers, in the face of the many challenges to education today.

Specifically, MPCA hopes this recognition will:

~contribute to Peace Corps' third goal and also promote the MPCA mission,

~promote Education for All, especially education in diverse communities and abroad,

~build awareness about, and support the need for, more diversity among educators within Peace Corps and  throughout the nation and

~encourage teachers to continue to inspire, motivate and facilitate discovery and learning for children and young people in minority communities and settings.
