Marisol Vigil
Marisol Vigil served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1997-1999 in Benin, West Africa. Ms. Vigil was assigned to work in the small village of Bonou in the southeastern province of Bénin. She worked in collaboration with the Social Services Center, under the direction of the Ministry of Social Services and Women's Affairs.  Ms. Vigil's primary responsibility as a Rural Community Development Worker was to establish maternal and child health programs in the locality of Bonou and its surrounding villages.  Throughout her service she designed projects targeting the needs of Béninese women and children within the fields of health, education, and small enterprise development. 
Ms. Vigil is currently working as a Business Development Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency.  In this capacity she helps to promote access to regional procurement, financing, and capacity-building resources for minority entrepreneurs located throughout 14 states in the Northeastern Region.
Ms. Vigil received her B.A. from Boston University with a double major in International Relations and Political Science.  She has also completed two Professional Certificates in Electronic Business Development and Small Business Management with New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
